Lying in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, a dozen miles from Chalon-sur-Saône, Mercurey is one of the largest wine appellations in Burgundy, with no less than 32 Premiers Crus. The vast majority of Mercurey produced is red, this rarer white is typically aromatically intense (scented wood and flint), with notes of white flowers and spices. Caremalised apricot, peach and lemon provide perpetual fruitiness on the palate. After a few more years ageing, cinnamon and other aromatic spice notes will evolve.
